myCollections is basically a file organizer that focuses on multimedia files. It lets you add movies, songs, books, games, TV shows, and even apps to its wide catalog. However, what makes this software really shine is that it can retrieve and collate metadata about your media files. It does this by using an online service to look up your files and automatically retrieve the information so you have it on hand.

If your files have any barcodes, it can also use those to search up online databases regarding your files. This really saves you a lot of time, especially if you’re the type to create highly-organized collections of your files. You can also export your collection to file formats like HTML, XML, PDF, and CSV. This tool even lets you easily track any media files you’ve loaned to friends. 

This program has an easy-to-use interface—the icons may look outdated but the functionality of the entire design is anything but. Its supported file categories are also pretty specific at times, as Nintendo DS games and adult content have their own folders. This media manager has two versions: a PC version and a portable version that lets you store your media catalog on an external drive.

All in all, myCollections is a great multimedia tool for any organizational needs. It doesn’t look like the best of programs but it has a bunch of cool features that make up for the lack of a more modern interface design. If you happen to have a large collection of videos, songs, and the like, this is a great program to use in order to keep track of everything.
